Sisa is one of the characters of Noli Me Tangere and the generous and loving mother of Basilio and Crispin. She is known for going mad after her youngest son passed away while her oldest goes missing.
Noli Me Tángere is a novel by the Filipino writer and activist Jose Rizal and was published during the Spanish colonial period of the Philippines. It explores perceived inequities in law and practice in terms of the treatment by the ruling government and the Spanish friars of the resident peoples in the late-19th century. It is one of the most important literature in the Philippines.
